“I found the workshop via the Internet. I probably put couples therapy training into the search engine, but can’t quite remember. I thought it was excellent. Our group worked very well together and was of a high standard of professionalism. Cabby was really good at facilitating and engaging us. I learned lots, not just about working with couples, but it has also enhanced my understanding of the relational dynamics in my own practice with individuals. The handouts were clear and helpful : I have already followed up certain aspects and bought some of the suggested books.”

Overview

Facilitated by Cabby Laffy, this 2-day CPD weekend workshop is designed for qualified therapists who would like to become more skilled in working therapeutically with clients who describe in therapy some kind of sexual problem or relationship difficulty, through this CPD workshop which explores this fascinating area of human sexuality. The workshop gives an overview of working with individuals, couples, and other relationships.

Cabby has developed this training event in response to feedback from many therapists  who feel that issues about sexuality and relationships were not adequately addressed in their original training. This workshop will offer knowledge and skills to help practitioners work more confidently with issues around sexual functioning and relationship dynamics.

This CPD training offers an introduction to the Certificate in Couple Therapy starting in March 2018, facilitated by Cabby Laffy with The Grove.  This 2-day workshop is also an introduction to the approach taken at the Centre for Psychosexual Health (CPH), for those who may be considering undertaking Cabby’s 2-year training course which is accredited by COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapy) : Diploma in Integrative Psychosexual Therapy.

Testimonials from previous course participants:

Intro Sex Rel 8 from 2012

The mix of theory and practice – very affirming. Good central London venue.

Intro Sex Rel 9

It was truly excellent!

Intro Sex Rel 7 from 2012

Some very practical stuff about length of sessions, homework, permission to be more directive and some psycho-sexual stuff.

Intro Sex 6 Rel from 2012

I found the workshop in Therapy Today; the whole workshop was useful with the most useful bit being to focus on the relationship and associated skills practice. I have put much of it in place already and will build up this acquired knowledge through supervision and CPD. Course leader was very good and facilitated learning.

Intro Sex Rel 5 from 2012

This workshop has given me a useful insight in to working with couples, (what to expect, useful interventions and ways to cope when things get difficult). This will enabled me to start working with couples, an area that I have wanted to work in but until now was unsure of what extra skills I might need to move from 1-2-1 work.

Intro Sex Rel 4 from 2012

I learnt a lot, had a great time and feel it was very worthwhile. Cabby was a great facilitator/lecturer, I am going away feeling empowered and excited about couple working, something that I have wanted to do for a few years. I would recommend this workshop to anyone interested in the subject.

Intro Sex Rel 3

I enjoyed Cabby’s style she is very knowledgeable. I would have found it more useful to have had a more detailed discussion regarding specific interventions when working with couples. The networking was good and the role plays.

Intro Sex Rel 2

Relaxed, non-judgmental & inclusive. Material was concise and relevant. Reassuring and therefore empowering.

Intro Sex Rel 1

I found the workshop via the Internet. The handouts were clear and helpful : I have already followed up certain aspects and bought some of the suggested books.
